Bassett-Lowke, 7mm gauge O coarse scale model of a 4-4-0 Locomotive and Tender, No. 1931 "Duke of York" in lined red livery. This is a clockwork model and comes in its correct original box. The loco is in fine, unretouched condition. There is a little paint loss to the safety dome and I would say that there is perhaps a little damage to the cab - it has probably taken a knock at some time and there is a little dent to the side of the cab, but it really doesn't detract as the paint hasn't been lost. The paint has a nice, fine, original patina. The loco is in working order and comes with a key. And while there are small blemishes here and there, the model should clean up extremely well. It's a nice example. Condition is a good solid B to B+. The box is untidy and very worn, the lid has a hole it, but it does have the correct label, and the inner box has the two compartments.

Bassett Lowke, Marklin for Bassett Lowke, 7mm Gauge O 6000 Class Great Western King 4-6-0 Locomotive and tender, No 6000 'King George V' in Great Western lined green livery. The Locomotive has a clockwork mechanism, dating the model to around 1935-37. The model has a bell to the bufferbeam, copper capped chimney and brass safety dome. The mechanism is in working order, very smooth and comes with a key. I understand the mech will probably be Bassett Lowke made. The locomotive is in original condition, has not seen any significant restoration, paint work shows a uniform patina of age, without any significant chips or marks, just a nice mellow aged look The loco has sprung buffers, hook style couplings ( which are sprung) Model comes with screw link coupling front and back. The tender has the GWR shirt button style crest , one side has faded. The only point I would raise is the tender at some earlier time had ''Great Western'' to the sides, If you hold the tender against the light you can see faintly ''Western'' to one side only, but the paint which is over it is aged I would guess it was changed when the loco was new. Staying with the tender , one of the handrails to the footplate end is missing. There are 4 holes to the tender rear, on the corners, I am guessing there might have been for a pair of handrails. There is a bar included for connecting the tender to the loco, the pin for holding the tender end is missing ( any suitable screw would do the job) There is some chipping to the front bogie, on or two chips here and there, but the models looks in superb original condition, Comes in a nice box while it appears to be original, with ''Bassett Lowke - scale models made in Northampton'' to the lid ( tear to label ) I think the box is from a later model ( it does have in handwriting to one end '' Prairie Tank'' Condition of loco B to B+ Box B to B+

Bassett-Lowke 3302/0/2302/0Bassett-Lowke 3302/0/2302/0 Ref: OBL100044
Bassett-Lowke, 7mm gauge O model of an ex-LMS Standard Compound 4-4-0 Locomotive and Tender, No.41109 in British Railways lined black livery with the early lion-over-wheel emblem to the tender. This is a 2-rail loco in excellent condition. Looking at the body sides, there is a hole for the key. I'm not sure whether all the electric bodies had holes for the keys, but there are absolutely no marks around the hole, which makes me think that this was probably 2-rail from new. Model appears to have been lightly used only - there are no marks or rubs to the lining or decals. There is a little corrosion around the lamp irons on the front buffer beam and smokebox door, and this would require a very slight touch-up to correct. There are also one or two very minor marks and corrosion on the chassis when viewed from underneath. Similarly, the tender has some marks and corrosion around the lamp irons for some reason, but it is sharp and clean, with the exception of a little mark just under the top of one of the sides and a tiny amount of corrosion around the water ???. Possibly the only major point with the tender is that it has removable coal which has left no marks whatsoever on the original paintwork underneath. When first viewed, the model gives the impression of being brand new, but when closely examined there is a nice patina of ageing. I guess that this is a late-50s or early 60s example. It comes in an original Bassett-Lowke box. The identifying label on the end has torn so I can't say whether it was the original box, although it's certainly the right length with two compartments inside the box that are exactly the right size for this loco. For some reason it comes with instructions for a clockwork loco. The box is a bit on the untidy side and there have been some Sellotape repairs and some fading has occurred. We have tested the loco, and it runs extremely well. It has a very powerful motor. It's an opportunity to acquire a virtually unmarked, as-new Bassett-Lowke model. Condition is easily B+. Box condition is B- to B.

Bassett-Lowke, 7mm O gauge A3 Class Pacific 4-6-2 Locomotive and Tender, No.2751 "Humourist" in LNER lined green livery. Loco has a double chimney. 12-14V DC motor suitable for 2 and 3-rail operation with an isolating on-off switch located in the cab. The model has sprung buffers, lamp irons complete with lamps, illuminated firebox, instructions, and an individually numbered brass plaque, which is fitted to each loco. The only point I would make is that the shade of green is probably not correct for LNER as it is too dark - it's a little nearer to Southern olive green. Model is being sold at a special price reflecting the inaccuracy in the colour - condition is A. Box condition is A.

Bassett-Lowke, 7mm or O gauge coarse scale 12V Electric J39 Class 0-6-0 Locomotive and Tender, No.1448 in LNER lined black livery. The electric version of this very popular model was made between 1927 and 1935. On initial inspection, the loco appears to be in fine, very clean and tidy, unmarked condition - but I believe that it has been restored at some point in its history. The mechanism appears to be original, as do the wheels, although the bodywork - certainly on the tender - appears to be re-painted. But it has been done to a very high standard. It has its original couplings. The loco is in fine collectable condition. I would grade the loco's condition as B+. It is however unboxed.

Bassett Lowke, 7mm O Gauge Model of a Standard 0-6-0 Goods Tender Locomotive, NO. 64193 in unlined plain British Railways black livery. The tender which is a standard Bassett-Lowke tender carries the early lion over wheel emblem. The tender has the Bassett-Lowke red and gold logo to the rear of the tender as does the riding plate on the locomotive. This is a 3 rail electric example which was made from 1955 to 1967. While not particularly rare the condition of this example is really very good indeed. Its original paintwork, it has not been as far as I can tell touched up. Both the logo's and the running numbers are all in pristine condition. There is a very slight amount of surface rust to the coupling on the loco and also the tender hook but with that exception the model is pretty much blemish free. Perhaps the only other points I could raise would be there is a slight loss of red paint to one corner of the buffer beam and a small chip on one of the loco steps which would just need touching in slightly. A great example. It comes in an original box which is correctly marked up for the contents and the condition of the box is a really good B, it has had some reinforcing done to one corner but the rest of the box is intact and in original condition. Condition of the loco is easily a B+. An excellent general purpose 3 rail locomotive.

Bassett-Lowke, O gauge Standard 0-4-0 Tank Locomotive, No.88 in LNER lined black livery. This is a clockwork-powered model and comes with its original key. My best guestimate as to its year of manufacture is 1938. The model has been fully serviced and is in good working order with key. There are some scrape marks around the keyhole and the second '8' of the running number is showing some signs of rubbing. There is an inscription stating 'Bassett-Lowke British Made' in black-on-red on the bunker to the rear. In all other aspects the loco is tidy, and while there is the occasional minor mark, overall it is generally a clean and desirable example of this popular little loco. It comes in a reproduction box made by the Bassett-Lowke Society. Box condition is A, it's just like new. Loco condition is B to B+.

Bassett-Lowke, Freelance O gauge 4-4-0 Locomotive, No.62078 "Prince Charles" in British Railways lined express passenger blue livery. This is a clockwork loco dating from 1951 to 1953. It's a handsome devil. The mechanism is in working order and it reverses fine. However, the big drawback, unfortunately, is that it's missing its tender. The loco appears to be in original condition, including the wheels. There's a little surface rust showing on the axles of the bogie. But the general impression is of a clean and tidy loco - but looking more closely, there are a few chips to the running board and around one of the spectacled window apertures on the front of the cab - and there's also a tiny amount of bending in the same area, but it's really very minor. There are one or two scratches to the boiler, but nothing major. Basically, it's been well used, but looked after, I think it's fair to say. The buffer beam has lost the majority of its red paint, which is no great problem. The handrails are intact, as are all the controls in the cab. The drop-down tender floor on the back of the cab is present and in operational condition. Overall, I would grade the loco as a really good B, but is probably a bit better considering its 50+ years. It is unboxed.

Bassett-Lowke, O Gauge A3 Class 4-6-2 Locomotive and Tender, No.4472 "Flying Scotsman" in lined LNER apple green livery with black roof. Locomotive is a three-rail, 12 volt, DC version. Manufactured by Bassett-Lowke from 1953-58. The mechanism is in fine condition and in full working order, in fact it goes like the clappers. An absolutely superb model with brass sprung buffers and a high level of detail. I would point out however that the model has been professionally repainted in LNER colours; I think this particular version would have been in BR green to start with. It's been exceedingly well done and we can supply additional high definition photographs to interested parties. Condition B+ to A- maybe. Locomotive is, however, unboxed
