Hornby Railways R128.Hornby Railways R128. Ref: BS500081
Hornby, This is the Helicopter Car from the Ex Battle Space Range. It is on a white bogie flat wagon with "Rotate" to the wagon bed. It has red hash markings and landing markings for the helicopter. The helicopter is in bright yellow with red rotor blade and unusually it is in completely unmarked and undamaged condition, with is highly unusual. Condition of the helicopter is A-. Wagon condition is a good solid B, very slight discolouration to the white to the side of the wagon. Made in 1983 and 1984 as a solo model with only 2300 being made. More were made for sets. This one comes with a track clip and a set of instructions. Box condition is B-, it is intact but showing signs of crush damage and wear.

Tri-ang, From the Tri-ang Military Range of Railway Vehicles this is the RAMC ambulance coach. The vehicle is in white with green window stripe and red cross motifs to both sides. It is in fine condition, the livery is bright and not discoloured. I would grade it as a B to B+. It comes in a window style Tri-ang box which is condition B, possibly B to B+.

Tri-ang Railways, From the Military Range of Railway Vehicle this is the R.A.M.C. ambulance coach in off white livery with green stripe to the side of the vehicle and red cross motifs to the side and also the top of the coach. Condition is B. I can't make my mind up whether the body colour has faded into a cream colour or whether infact it was manufactured. It does seem very consistently cream throughout. Condition is B to B+. Box which is a window style box is condition B, possibly B to B+.

Tri-ang Hornby, From the Battle Space Range of Military Railway Vehicles this is the Assault Tank Transporter comprising a bogie well wagon with a plastic assault tank with 2 read eye missiles. The tank is in khaki, the same colour as the wagon. The tank has a Battle Space logo and the whole ensemble is in fine condition, easily a B+. It comes in a nice box, there is a slight tear where a label has been removed from one end of the box with the exception of that it is a tidy example.
Price: £70.00 / $98.00

Triang Hornby, Satellite Launching Car from the Battle Space range. It consists of a bogie flat wagon with a launching mechanism, a spy satellite in yellow, red and silver, instructions, a track actuator clip and seven commandos. Overall condition is pretty good - it's a nice example, it has been used but I would grade it as a really nice B+, possibly let down by something stuck to the flat bed of the wagon, which is really only noticeable when inspected closely. The window box is condition B.
Price: £48.00 / $67.20

Tri-ang Hornby, From the Battle Space Range of Military Vehicles this is the rescue helicopter car which comprises a launch vehicle in khaki and a yellow helicopter with black rotor. This helicopter has got a fracture to the tail ring but it is hardly noticeable. The vehicle itself is a good condition B and the helicopter B to B+. Triang Hornby, from the Battle Space or military range, this is the Plane Launching Car, which is based on the 12-wheel Trestrol wagon. Comes complete with aircraft and two wings that clip together, instructions, and a track clip. The mechanism on the wagon itself is in working order and it comes complete with its elastic band. I have a feeling that the plane is a reproduction - it's hard to tell, but it's in such good condition that I can't imagine it being original somehow. The wagon itself is in beautiful condition and is completely unmarked - its condition is easily B+. The original box is also in B to B+ condition.
Price: £55.00 / $77.00

Tri-ang Railways, From the Military Range of Railway Vehicles this is "Radar Tracking Command Car". Model was released in 1966 and was made through to 1971. The model is in blue with Battle Space logos to the side. This probably would actually have been a Tri-ang Hornby model even though it is in a Tri-ang Railways box which I think is incorrect. It has got a working light and revolving radar scanner which are both operational. The method of drive is a rubber band which I don't think is the right one for the model, it is a bit on the slack side but it does work and the overall condition is a reasonable B to B+. It still has the original ladders and aerial. Box is condition B although I believe this is the incorrect box.
Price: £40.00 / $56.00

Tri-ang Hornby, From the Battle Space Range of Military Based Items this is the exploding car, a fun item from Tri-ang. The box car explodes when hit by one of the Tri-ang missiles. It is in full operational order, it is in olive with Battle Space logos to both sides. It comes in its original box and the outer tray. It should have come with a squad of 7 plastic commando's, this example has got 4 metal ones which have obviously been replaced. Condition is B to B+. Box condition is B.

Tri-ang Hornby, From the Battle Space Range of Vehicles this is the Radar Tracking Car in blue with Battle Space logo's to the sides. It has seen a relatively rough life, the main rotating radar and scanner has been broken at some point and repaired and the shaft which goes through the vehicle again has been replaced and does not appear to turn. I have not been able to test whether the light works or not so the overall condition is B-. The box is B+ although it is a Tri-ang Railways replacement box.

Triang, From the Original Military Vehicles Range of Railway Vehicles this is the searchlight wagon which is a 12 wheel well wagon, No. TR7192 in NATO green livery. It comes complete with searchlight, radar scanner and chimney, all of which are intact. The rear crew quarters, if that what it is, is slightly loose but is no great issue. Generally clean and tidy, it still has its NATO decals on both sides. It has not been tested but its overall condition is a good B to B+. It comes in an original window style box which is condition B.

Tri-ang Hornby, From the Battle Space Range of Military Railway Vehicles this is the Bogie Sniper Car, No. D-459 in khaki livery with battle space logo's to both sides of the vehicle. The wagon is in operational order. The sniper pops up. It comes with two actuating rails each with a pair of clips and a track clip as well. The original model would have come with 7 plastic commandos, this one has got 4 commandos but they are made out of metal so obviously they are not original. Model has been used, the roof is very slightly dusty but it is in clean condition and all the decals are in good order. I would grade it as a good solid B, possibly better. The box is the open style box which is intact showing signs of wear but again complete, condition is a good B for both box and contents.

It appears to be complete with original radar scanner, chimney and searchlight. It is not tested but it looks to be complete. Overall condition is a good B to B+. Triang, from the military range of vehicles, this is the Rocket Launch Wagon, in NATO kaki green with the NATO symbol to the wagon bed. Fitted with MkIII couplings, it comes complete with a black-tipped red rocket. It is in working order. It has seen some use, but is generally tidy and appears to be without marks or blemishes. I would grade its condition as a good B to B+. Box condition is A-, however the box is a Triang Society replacement.

Triang, from the Battle Space range, this is the Rocket Launching Wagon, in khaki with Battle Space logos. The rocket is red with a black tip. It's a reasonably well-used example and is showing some signs of wear with some chipping to the metal launcher. Overall, I would grade it as B. Triang, from the military vehicles series, this is the Searchlight Wagon, No.TR7192 "NATO" in green livery with red and blue NATO motif to both sides of the vehicle. Based on the 6-wheel Trestrol wagon, the vehicle is in nice, clean and unmarked condition and is complete with its chimney and radar dish - although the dish looks so bright and clean it makes me wonder whether it's a replacement. The searchlight itself is missing its bulb, but in all other respects, it's a good collectable example of this model. I would grade it as B to B+. The box is a nice tidy B and comes with its inner tray and original instructions.

Battle Space, Honest John Missile Pad, which comprises a base with a rocket launcher which is No.5261 in red and also has the Battle Space motif attached. Comes with a large white plastic rocket with a black tip, which appears to be made out of rubber. It is in operational condition. Also supplied is a set of 6 commandos in a plastic bag, whether this is original or not I'm not sure. There are some remnants of yellow tissue paper which would have originally come with the set. Overall condition of what is a very rare item is probably B to B+. It's all there and there are no major marks or rubs or anything like that. Box condition B- to B. There is a bit of damage to one of the end flaps

Triang Hornby, Battle Space Turbo Car. One of those great Triang oddities, manufactured for the first time in 1967 with a further batch made in 1970. Overall, only about 12,000 were made and are very hard to find in good condition these days. This one is probably the best I have ever come across. It is in absolutely ex-factory condition. It has the rubber nose which dates it to the second batch. It has the original card packing which protects the propeller in the box, and also the card tube which protects the nose within the box. The original yellow tissue paper is included and the instructions that came with it. Overall, I would grade it as A-. The box is intact, I would grade it as a B, although it is showing some signs of wear, but it is all there. A very interesting item.

Triang Hornby, North British 0-4-0 Diesel Shunter Locomotive in bright red Battle Space livery and carrying the two Battle Space logos on either side of the bonnet. Loco is in played-with condition, is quite grubby and would benefit from a really careful clean. Loco appears to be in reasonable condition with the exception of a hairline fracture to one of the steps - it's in no danger of parting company with the loco, it's just there in the plastic. This model was manufactured for a couple of years from 1966 to 1967 and as far as I am aware was only sold in sets, not as an individual loco. Additionally I've just noticed that there's a little bit of damage to the chimney - well it's a sort of vestigial chimney really - but it must have been dropped at some point because it's slightly pushed in but really is minor. Condition is B. Loco is unboxed.

Triang, Bogie Well Wagon with Tank Load, No.41917 in dark green with Mk3 couplings. In great condition. The tank is from the Minic range with friction drive, stamped 'Triang Made in England'. I'd guess it's been lightly used, but it's in excellent condition. I would grade it as B to B+. The box is also very nice, a good B, possibly B+. A scarce item.

Triang Hornby, Battle Space Satellite Launching Car, which is red and blue with a silver and yellow satellite. The car is in operating order, it's complete with chimney and decals. In addition there is a plastic bag containing seven Battle Space commandos. It has been used and would benefit from a very slight dusting. Condition grade B The box, however, is in pretty rough condition, it's missing its inner packing and is in a grubby state. I would grade the box as C+.

Triang, from the Battle Space range, this is the Exploding Bogie Stock Car, No.9841 "Danger Warheads Handle Carefully" in khaki with the Battle Space logos to both sides of the vehicle. Wagon is in working order. It's a tidy example - I would grade its condition as B, possibly a little better, although there is a little wear to the 'k' in the word 'shocks'. It comes in a replacement Triang Railways box.

Triang Hornby, from the Battle Space range of vehicles, this is the Plane Launching Car. This model is quite unusual in as much as it is complete and original. It has the launching mechanism with its elastic band, and the plane, which comes in two parts. While the plane is a little battered, it is original, which makes it desirable. Comes with instructions. Condition of contents is B. Box condition is B.

Tri-ang Railways, From the Military Range of Vehicles this is the Operating Helicopter Car which comprises a bogie flat bed wagon, No. TR7301 "NATO" in green and a helicopter in bright red. The launch mechanism is in fully working order. Looking at the vehicle it has been used but it is in very clean sharp condition. It comes with a set of instructions and the helicopter is possibly the first one I have seen for a very long time that doesn't have a broken tail rotor although when viewed from above the helicopter body does appear to be slightly bent banana wise to one side but still a sharp example. It comes with the track operating clip, the inner packaging. Box condition is B-, it is a window box but it is a bit on the battered side but it is intact. It is a good example.
