FIA, 00 Gauge finescale model of the original prototype Main line Diesel pioneer, Class D16/1 Co-Co Diesel Electric locomotive, 10000 in LMS black and silver livery, with ' LMS ' to body side. Built from brass to the very highest standards, with a wealth of finescale detail With centrally mounted motor with 6 axle drive, sprung buffers individually mounted letters and numerals made from stainless steel, super fine roof detail all and all a model to be proud of.

10000 was the first of two LMS prototype main line diesel locomotives built at Derby works. 10000 was completed in 1947 and carried the distinctive black and silver livery with LMS to body side. After a long period of testing, 10000 started operating standard service trains from early 1948. Often used in multiple with sister locomotive 10001, the pair continued to operate Midland services until 1953. It was around 1951 that the LMS motif was removed and the Lion & wheel design fitted. 1953 saw the pair reallocated to Southern region metals which is where they stayed until 1955. Back home to the LMR once again, working a variety of passenger and freight duties up till withdrawal in 1966 for 10000 and 1963 for sister 10001.
