Gauge 1 CoachGauge 1 Coach Ref: LEE20001
Leeds, this is best guess on the heritage of this model - as there is a possibility that it could have been produced by Mills Brothers or that it is completely hand-made. It is a gauge 1 GNER Luggage Van (or Full Brake), No.720 in a teak-style finish. The sides and ends of the coach are paper overlays. The roof, which has a proper rain strip, is off-white. The chassis has steel frames with timber stretchers, and the gas bottles underneath are made from timber. The vehicle does not have any bogies,( Please note we have since managed to obtain a pair of Mills Bros Gauge bogies whicj are suitable for this coach ) but it does have the bogie mounts complete with nuts and bolts. One of the four metal buffers is missing. Overall condition is good. It's very heavy and feels like a solid piece of wood (possibly a hardwood). Condition is a good B. An interesting model.

Gauge 1, Pullman Clerestory-Roofed Coach in Pullman chocolate and cream livery. This coach has a paper overlay to the sides and ends of the vehicle. It has a proper curved clerestory roof. The model is made from timber while the chassis is made of two metal girder-type sections with timber stretchers, wire underframes and timber battery boxes. It is fitted with four metal buffers and although it has no bogies, bogie mounts are in place complete with nuts, bolts and washers. I'm not sure whether this is a kit or whether it has been made by Leeds Model Co or even Mills Brothers. It's heavy and I'm guessing the coach body itself is made from timber. Condition is B, would probably benefit from being varnished as well as having wheels.

Gauge 1, GNER Dining Saloon 1st Class, No.2581 in teak-style finish. The coach has paper side and end overlays. It has the correct-style roof with rain strip and ventilators all in place. The coach body feels like it is made of wood and the chassis is made from two metal girder sections with timber stretchers and timber battery boxes. The vehicle is missing its bogies but has bogie connectors in place. Two of the buffers are missing from one end. But with the exception of that, it's not a bad example, although it would probably benefit from a varnish to brighten up the finish of the paper overlays. I'm not entirely sure of the model's heritage - it could be kit-built, or maybe built by Leeds or even Mills Brothers. Condition is B.

Gauge 1 Coach, kit built LMS Suburban 3rd Coach, No.12194 in LMS lined maroon livery. Coach has fitted interior with fabric-covered seats, metal frame, sprung buffers, and hook-and-link style couplings. Vehicle has been used, but is fine useable condition - I would grade it as B. Unboxed.

Gauge 1 Coach, a kit built gauge 1 LMS 1st Class Mainline Corridor Coach in LMS lined maroon livery with dark grey roof. Vehicle has been well constructed. It is fitted with coach connectors, sprung buffers, roof ventilators, door handles, and hook-and-link style couplings. There has been a touch-up to the roof, which could have been better, but otherwise it is a fine model. Overall condition is B. Unboxed.
