Hornby Series, Gauge O 7mm coarse scale tinplate Train Set. Comprises 0-4-0 Tank Locomotive, No.2270 in LMS lined maroon, along with three LMS Coaches with have fully lithographed bodies - non-see-through windows, in other words. There are two Composites and a Full Brake. There is also a circle of track and a little bag of bits, which includes a key and other odds and ends. The loco is in full working order, both forwards and reverse, and seems to run smoothly. There are some chips and scratches to one side, and there is a dent in the tank on the other (right-hand) side. The front buffer beam is pretty badly scratched too and there is paint loss to the buffers. The coaches are all pretty well chipped. Condition of contents is no better than B. The box lid is intact but battered - but then most of them are. There's a hole in one corner, but it doesn't stop the lid from operating as such. One of the corners has parted and the inner box is a bit battered but intact. Box condition is B.

Hornby, Gauge O 7mm Tinplate Train Set by Meccanno comprising a No. 40 0-4-0 Tank Locomotive, No. 82011 in British Railways lined black livery with the early lion over wheel emblem. This is a clockwork locomotive, it comes with a key, it is in good operational order and it is a tidy example. There is a very small amount of surface rust showing to one of the motion rods, a couple of chips here and there but the overall impression is reasonably bright and tidy. A good condition B to B+. Also there is a bogie bolster wagon in black with red bolsters, a 5 plank open wagon, No. M420428 in British Railways grey and an 8 tonne van which to me looks slightly earlier than the other two wagons, so maybe this is a substitution. It has got sliding doors, it is No. 893151 and it is in brown. The van is in as good as a condition as the rest of the items in the set. It is still reasonably tidy, a little bit of surface rust showing in small pits to the chassis. There is an oval of track, a box with track clips in, all the cardboard dividers are intact and original and the lid unbelievably all the corners are intact. The only point I would mention is there is a small amount of graffiti to the top of the lid, somebody has written two or three words which have been scribbled out. It is a nice tidy virtually complete set in good order.
