Loanstar Treble-O-Lectric EL51. Ref: LS400002
Loanstar, N Gauge 2mm Model Rail System Passenger Set which contains Baby Deltic Bo-Bo Diesel Locomotive No. D5900 in British Railways green. Two coaches, a brake 2nd No. M35114 and a composite No. M16001. In a further two boxes are an oval of track including a power clip, set of instructions and some spare parts including the rubber bands for the drive system to the locomotive. The contents of the set are in superb condition. I would say the loco has been test run only, the same goes for the coaches and the track also is very clean and tidy. The inner tray is in nice condition, each component is housing its own separate window style cardboard box. The box bottom is beginning to part on two of the four corners. The lid complete with a superb illustration is missing about 1 inch of one side of the box and the corners have parted on the two further sides. But still it is a lovely set in a very complete condition. I would grade the contents as B+ to A-. The inner box is a B and the outer lid as a B also.

The loco and coaches are all diecast. The loco has a unique drive system, which requires the use of a rubber band. The loco is still sealed in its plastic bag along with the wheel sets that have to be fitted to make the thing work. While the loco hasn't been used, the coaches have. Also included is an oval of track. The set is very attractively presented with the components in individual cardboard boxes within a card tray. Unfortunately, all the end flaps at one end of each box are partially missing - however, the overall effect is still good. Condition? There's a ticket in the box, which says 'Lone Star models should never be oiled or greased'. The inner tray from one of the little boxes for the coaches is missing. With the track there is a power clip and what looks like an uncoupling ramp. The condition of the inner tray is B+. The lid, which contains a superb illustration, is in condition B, one of the corners has parted but this shouldn't be too difficult to repair. There is also a small tear to the top of the lid, but it really is quite minor. An interesting set.
