Mainline, Class 2301 (Dean Goods) 0-6-0 Tender Locomotive, No.2516 in 'Great Western' plain unlined green livery. This model was made between 1982 and 1984. It has been used and is a little on the dusty side and it would probably require a service to make it run smoothly and quietly. Overall condition is a reasonable B, possibly slightly better. Box condition is B to B+.
Price: £33.00 / $62.37

It has seen a very little use, quite a sharp tidy example with no marks, rubs or blemishes. Condition is B+. It comes in a nice tidy box as well which is condition B+ with a set of correct instructions.

Mainline, ex-LNER N2 Class 0-6-2 Tank Locomotive, No. 69531 in British Railways lined black livery. The loco carries the small early lion over wheel emblem. Made for two or three years from 1982 to 1984. This example is in great condition, it has possibly been lightly used, maybe test run, the wheels are still shiny. I would grade the model as a good B to B+. It comes in a tidy box which is condition B to B+ with an original set of instructions. Quite a handsome tank loco.

But with that exception, it is unmarked and clean - condition is a good B+. Box condition is B+. The original instructions are included.

Mainline, 5XP Class Jubilee 4-6-0 Locomotive and Tender, No. 5687 "Neptune". The locomotive is finished in LMS straw lined black livery. One of the very last models made by Mainline in 1981 or 1982. This particular model comes with the version 2 or Mk 2 steam sound featuring a whistle. Model is test run only condition, the Mk 2 steam sound does not require batteries it runs from the pick up from the wheels. There is a connecting cable that connects the tender to the locomotive. It is very impressive. As you increase the speed the chuff chuff sound gets faster so it is synchronised. The box style is different than the earlier styles and there is information about the steam sound on the back of the box. Condition of the loco is A- in a B+ box. It comes with a set of instructions, a further set of instructions regarding the Mk 2 steam sound and some components that are required for automatic whistle operation, all complete. Very unusual to see one of these in this condition.
Price: £150.00 / $283.50

Mainline, Parallel Boiler Royal Scot Class 4-6-0 Locomotive, No. 46137 "The Prince of Wales Volunteers South Lancashire". Loco is finished in British Railways lined green and the tender has the early lion over wheel BR emblem. Model has seen a little use but it is generally clean and tidy and unmarked. With the exception of a small mark in the paintwork on the smoke box just forward of the chimney, I can't tell whether it is a factory thing or whether it is something that has happened subsequently to manufacture. It looks like a slight discolouration in the black. Apart from that the loco is in perfect condition, I would grade it as a B to B+ bearing in mind the point I have raised. It comes in a B+ box.
Price: £45.00 / $85.05

Mainline, Parallel Boiler Royal Scot 4-6-0 Locomotive and Tender, No. 6127 "Old Contemptable's". Loco is finished in LMS lined maroon livery and the model appears either lightly used or test run only, excellent condition. The only point I would raise is there is a very slight rub just forward of the chimney on top of the smoke box but it is minor. Model comes with the correct set of instructions and a reasonable box which is condition B to B+.

This is a nice clean example of this model, it appears to be unused. It was made for a short period of time from 1982 to 1984. This version has the yellow spots. Condition is B+ to A-. It comes in an original box which is condition B with a set of appropriate instructions.

Mainline, ex-LMS Class 6P/7P Rebuilt Patriot Class 4-6-0 Locomotive and Tender, No. 45536 "Private W Wood VC". Locomotive is finished in British Railways lined black livery. The tender carries "British Railways". This model comes fitted with "steam sound" and was manufactured for a single year in 1980. It is quite interesting it does have two methods of steam sound it has the electronic unit in the tender which requires a battery to operate and it also has the sort of like clips rubbing on the axle which is the system that Tri-ang use. Condition of the model is B+. The box itself is in reasonable condition with the sole exception of the cellophane which is damaged in the middle, box condition therefore is B. The model is B to B+. Also included with the model is a set of crew, a set of instructions and a special set of instructions for the steam sound unit.

This is a fine example of this very attractive locomotive, it has virtually seen no use at all, it is clean, tidy and the wheels are still shiny. It is fitted with the electronic steam sound unit in the tender. The model comes in an appropriately labelled box, Steam Sound along with three sets of instructions, two of which relate to the electronic unit. Condition is B+ to A- in a good condition B box.

This version of the loco has the bell to the front buffer beam and is fitted with steam sound. Made for a single year in 1980. This version also has the black cab front which I think further makes it more interesting. The model is perhaps unused or if it is very lightly used, lovely condition. Loco is finished in British Railways lined black livery and the tender carries the small early lion over wheel emblem. Made for a couple of years in 1980 and 1981. It is a bit of a slightly odd example in as much as it hasn't been used, the wheels are still bright and shiny, however I think it is possibly to do with the packaging there is a mark on the cylinder cover and also the top of the boiler. I have got a feeling they will actually clean out and what it is it appears to be paper that has either rubbed or become slightly impregnated in one spot, but it is not obvious and the model itself is in lovely condition with that exception. It comes with unused detailing parts. The box is a reasonable condition B, there has been a label removed from the top of the box at some point.

Made between 1980 and 1984, this was the first of the Mainline Manors. This example has been used - there is a driver that has been fitted to the cab although the figure looks more like a Hobbit than a BR employee. The model is generally tidy, although a little on the dusty side perhaps. I would grade its condition as B. The box is tatty - it's intact but has Sellotape repairs and the cellophane is damaged and loose. Box condition is C+ to B-. Comes with correct instructions.

The model has a double chimney. It has been renamed and renumbered, the numbering hasn't been done to an amazing standard, you can tell it has been renumbered. The nameplates though are etched metal and look rather nice complete with crests. The model itself has been used but it is generally tidy. I would grade it as a good solid B. The box again condition B.

Mainline, 6P Rebuilt Royal Scot Class 4-6-0 Locomotive and Tender, No. 6119 "Lancashire Fusilier". Loco is finished in LMS lined black livery. On the face of it is reasonably attractive but, I wouldn't go as far to say suffered at the hands of the previous owner, but it has certainly had some enhancements. There is a pair of lamps on the buffer beam, it has been renamed with etched metal nameplates. There is some glue residue unfortunately on both sides around the nameplate on the splashers. The renumbering has basically taken the form of someone just handwriting the numeral 9 over a 5 which doesn't look particularly good. The crew has been fitted to the footplate and there is a little glue reside on the smoke box door where the handrail has perhaps come undone at some point and been reattached. The model has been well used, it is a little on the grubby side, condition is B-. Box is B-, the cellophane has mostly disappeared.

Locomotive is finished in British Railways original green livery, it is just plain green and the loco has split head code boxes which read IC37. The engine also has a grey body stripe and red buffer beam. A difficult model to find and looks particularly attractive with the split boxes and the plain green front. It comes complete with shed code 17A which I think is Derby. The model is in excellent condition, easily a B+ to A-. Mainline, Class 56 Co-Co Diesel Electric Type 5 Heavy Freight Locomotive, No.56099 "Fiddlers Ferry Power Station" in heavily weathered Transrail branded triple grey livery. This one's a bit of an unusual model: it has a Mainline chassis with working lights and the body could be Hornby although I'm not really sure. The model has been re-named and re-numbered. It has etched metal nameplates and it has been professionally weathered. It has also had radio aerials fitted to the cab roof and fans fitted, which are not operational but look the part, and there is buffer beam detail at both ends, which has been done not incredibly well. But the overall impression is that the model really does look the part. It also has Cardiff Canton etched metal depot plaques. Condition is B to B+, and it achieves this grade simply because the modelling is good. It filthy - but looks brilliant! Only partially boxed, in a tray.
