Mainline, Electric Train Set, "Royal Scot BR Express Passenger Train Set" comprising a Royal Scot 4-6-0 Locomotive and Tender, No.46100 "Royal Scot" in British Railways lined green with late crest to the tender. Along with the loco are three Stanier coaches - two Composites no.M3935M and a Brake 2nd no.M5542M. The two composites are in two different shades of red and cream - a variation on the production line, I guess. Also included in the set, is a large oval of track and a right-hand point, an uncoupling ramp and some detailing parts. The battery controller set-up is missing from this set - but in its place, there is a quantity of track, including two Peco points and some Hornby track. Loco is in nice B to B+ condition, and the coaches and track are in about the same state. The inner tray is nice - condition is B+, and all four corners of the outer lid are intact and the cellophane is just about there, and the box is clean. A nice set.

Mainline Railways Electric Train Set Ref: MA40004
Mainline, "British Railways Steam Passenger Electric Train Set" which contains a British Railways Standard Class 4 4-6-0 Locomotive and Tender, No.75001 in British Railways lined green livery with late crest to the tender. Accompanying the loco are three Mk1 coaches, comprising composite no.W24720, and brake 2nd no.W34820 and a further brake 2nd no.W34820. All three coaches are in British Railways maroon and cream livery. In addition to the rolling stock there is an oval of track with a siding, a battery controller, a buffer stop. As well as the items that were supposed to be in the set, there are one or two additional items which have been added by the previous owner and I will list these briefly: there are four further buffer stops which appear to be of the Hornby type, a power clip which again appears to be Hornby, and eight further points - 4 left-hand and 4 right-hand - mostly Hornby, but there is at least one Peco Set Track item. The loco is in virtually unused condition, there are signs of use to the wheels but the body is in very clean condition, the only problem is that one of the handrails has come loose and needs re-attaching, which I don't think is a major issue. The coaches are in generally clean condition: the first brake 2nd is a B to B+, the composite is in about the same condition and the final brake has a scratch to the side which knocks the condition down a bit. Overall, it's an interesting set, the inner tray is made from polystyrene and is generally reasonable condition, couple of cracks here and there. The lid is intact, although two of the corners are starting to part. Top of the lid is in grubby condition, but as previously mentioned is intact, along with the illustration of the Class 4 loco.
