Graham Farish, OO gauge train set "Scale Model Railroad". Made for a brief period from 1950 to 1952. Set contains 4-6-0 Black 5 Tender Locomotive, No.44753 in British Railways black livery with early crest to the tender sides. The loco is in its original box. I have tested the motor, which is the original mechanism, and it is in working order - although it took a moment or two to get it running, but once it did it was off like a rocket. It comes with the Cardon shaft to connect the tender motor to the loco. The loco chassis is free-running. Coal has been added to the tender, but in all other respects it is an original example. Both ends of the loco box are seriously damaged. Along with the loco are five goods wagons, a brake van and six curved tracks. The wagons are the early diecast type. There is a 16 ton Steel Mineral Wagon in grey with metal wheels, a Brake Van in brown, four 7 plank Wagons with brake detail and plastic wheels in dark brown, light brown, dark grey and grey. They are all in original boxes. Condition of the boxes varies from poor to good. The track is in reasonable condition. Loco condition is B. Condition of the wagons is B, there are lots of chips and some frosting on some of the exposed metal parts. The track is grubby and would need cleaning. The inner box is reasonably intact, and is complete with inner display tray. The lid, with its attractive illustration, has been repaired at one end while the other end has come away completely - although it is actually in the inner box. Box condition is B-.
