Wrenn, Streamlined Coronation Class 4-6-2 Locomotive and Tender, No. 6228 "Duchess of Rutland". Locomotive is finished in LMS gold lined maroon livery. Fabulous looking locomotive, it has seen little if any use, all the wheels are shiny and all the lining is intact which is highly unusual on this model because they are susceptible to peeling. But looking very closely to the lining there is a couple of places where there are I suppose I could describe as air bubbles underneath the lining where it has been applied because these are water applied decals. One side has slightly more than the other but the overall effect is very pleasing. Model comes with a period 4 box which is stamped on the bottom "Packer No. 3 Ref No. 07624". Included with the model are a set of instructions, a further set of instructions specifically relating to the W2300 kit and how to apply the transfers and also there is quite a large quantity of further transfers, some which have been used and some which haven't, at least enough to do four locomotives. I understand from the previous owner that he thought this model might be one of the Wrenn kits of the Streamlined Coronation, I am not entirely sure myself it is possible but the transfers could have been applied outside of the factory it is just unknown. There are no chips to the paintwork. I would grade the model as B+ or better in a B to B+ box, the box is showing a little bit of crush damage to one corner but it is minor and the overall impression is quite tidy.
