Playcraft Railways PR1450 Ref: PL40001
Playcraft, HO scale electric train set "Euston Passenger Train Set". Contains a Class 29 Bo-Bo Diesel Locomotive, No.D6100, three MkI coaches, comprising two Composites no.15100 and one Brake 2nd no.34060 in British Railways lined maroon livery. One of the composites is in a different shade of maroon to the others, although it is original in every other way. The set comes with an oval of track and a Playcraft catalogue, dating from around about 1965, I'd guess. The inner box is in fine condition, a good B, and it comes with a really nice lid featuring a lovely illustration - two of the corners have parted, but the overall impression is bright and sharp. Condition of the lid is B+. The locomotive has lost its buffers, which seems to be quite a common state of affairs with these locos. The buffer beam is red, and I don't know whether this is a factory modification or whether it's been done after purchase.

Playcraft Electric Highways No.2 Set Ref: PEH4001
Playcraft, made by the Playcraft Toys Company of London, this was an alternative to the Triang Minic Motorways system. It's an absolutely beautiful period piece, and it appears to be entirely complete. The set consists of: an oval of motorway-style roadway with two tracks; two cars - one of which is a Jaguar and the other a Mercedes Benz - both with electric motors and controlled by a transformer around the track; two control units which comes in individual boxes, which are diecast metal and come with keys (similar to an ignition key) to operate; and various boxed accessories to go with the set including the ability to put a camber on the track - sounds exciting. There is a full complement of paperwork, instructions, guarantee etc. It's a beautiful set in nice, original condition - I would grade all the contents as B+, and the box is probably a B, the lid is showing some signs of wear, two corners have parted but there are no tears, and it has a nice period illustration to the lid.

Playcraft HO International Ref: PL40002
Playcraft, HO gauge Continental Train Set, which comprises a Bo-Bo Switcher-type loco No.BB66150 in SNCF blue and white livery, with red buffer beams. Model is in nice condition and appears to be either unused or very lightly used. Accompanying the loco is a large 4-axle Crane "Grue 85 ton no.559 Villeneuve" in silver and blue-grey livery. It comes with two match trucks in brown, four steady arms and a pair of match bogies. Very impressive. Additionally, there are what appears to be an Engineering Coach in green, which is marked 'SNCF' and an oval of track including an uncoupling ramp. Instructions are included too. Overall condition of the contents is B to B+, possibly a little better. The packaging consists only of its inner polystyrene blocks - the outer box is missing.
