Wrenn Railways W2201Wrenn Railways W2201 Ref: WR100286
Wrenn, Class R1 0-6-0 Tank Locomotive, No.38 "Esso" in unlined mid-blue livery. I understand that this model was made in 1980 only. It is fitted with Hornby Dublo style couplings. The model has been used but it is relatively tidy - there are no specific marks or rubs. I would grade it as B, possibly B+. It is however, unboxed. It is a fairly hard-to-find R1 tank, as only around 300 were made.
Price: £80.00 / $151.20

Wrenn, Class R1 0-6-0 Tank Locomotive, "Shell" in silver. Loco is a lovely, clean and unmarked example. Condition is A-. The box, which is from 'period 3' with Sellotape to the middle, has 'Packer no.3' stamped on the bottom. Comes with instructions.

Wrenn, Class R1 0-6-0 Tank Locomotive, No.7420 in LMS red livery. Made between 1974 to 1989, this example has seen some use. The body itself is very clean and tidy, but there is some wear to the letter 'S' and both 'L' letters. But apart from that, the model is bright and clean. Condition is B, would be better but for the marks to the decals. The box is tidy, it's a 'period 3' box, and it has a stamp although it is illegible. Box condition is B.
Price: £48.00 / $90.72

Wrenn, Class R1 0-6-0 Tank Locomotive, No.31047 in British Railways plain unlined black with the early lion-over-wheel emblem. This is quite a rarity and not a model you come across that frequently. The model has seen plenty of use and is a little on the grubby side, although the decals, both running numbers and the crests are in fine condition. But I would suggest that it would benefit from a good cleaning. The front coupling hook is missing. The overall condition is a good solid B, possibly slightly better. It's in a 'period 4' box, which is correctly stamped 0567 and the '/A' has been added in pencil or ink. But everything else about the model and box appears to be genuine. There is a little crush damage at one corner. Box condition B+

Wrenn, Class R1 0-6-0 Tank Locomotive, No. 1127 in "Southern" dark green livery. The model has red buffer beams and silver buffers. This is a period 3 model, it has been lightly used. It currently has one coupling at the rear is Hornby Dublo and the coupling at the front is Tri-ang. Of course these models were supplied with both couplings. There is a slight paint chip to the rear buffer beam but with the exception of that the model is tidy. There are no rubs to the decals and no blemishes that are obvious. Condition is B to B+. Box is a period 3 box which comes with a set of instructions. The style of box has typed labels to the end of the box which is correct. Box condition is B.

Wrenn, Gresley A4 Class Pacific 4-6-2 Locomotive and Tender, No.4482 "Golden Eagle" in LNER lined Doncaster green. The loco has a double chimney and no valances. A very attractive livery, which certainly suits the locomotive. This example has seen virtually no use and I would say that it has been test-run only. It's very clean and sharp. There is a little group of chips to the loco's rear bogie, possibly where it's been in contact with the packaging, and there is the tiniest blemish on the running board, which I suspect is a factory issue. The tender is in similar condition. Overall, I would grade the model as a good B+ to A-. Comes in a nice original 'period 3' box with 'Packer No.6' to the bottom. Box condition is B+. There are two sets of instructions.
Price: £145.00 / $274.05

Wrenn, A4 Class Gresley 4-6-2 Locomotive and Tender, No.4482 "Golden Eagle" in LNER lined Doncaster green livery. The loco has a double chimney tender and the tender is the corridor type. The model has discolouration to the handrails, which I'm sure would clean up. It has seen perhaps a little use, but it's clean and tidy, and there are no chips or marks to the loco. The tender is in similar condition, with the exception of a couple of nicks to the lining on the left-hand side. I would grade the loco's condition as B+, and the tender's as B to B+. Comes in an original 'period 3' box with the customary Sellotape marks to the sides. The bottom of the box has 'Packer no.6' stamped on it. Comes with instructions and a further leaflet about coupling conversions. A nice-looking model.

Wrenn, A4 Class 40602 Locomotive and Tender, No.60014 "Silver Link" in British Railways lined green livery with the later style BR crest to the corridor tender. The loco has a double chimney but no valances. This is a relatively scarce model made from 1980 to 1992, with a total of just 550 being constructed. The model is in an early 'period 4' box, without Sellotape marks and with 'Packer No.6' marked on the bottom of the box. The model has seen very little use and the wheels are bright and shiny. There is the merest hint of a little paint loss on the edge of the roof, but this is hardly noticeable. I would grade the condition as B+, possibly A-. Box is looking a little on the tired side, but it is intact, and I would grade it as B. Comes with instructions and an alternative set of couplings.
Price: £210.00 / $396.90

Wrenn, Gresley A4 Class 4-6-2 Locomotive and Tender, No.4498 "Sir Nigel Gresley" in LNER garter blue livery with red-backed wheels. The loco has a double chimney and no valances. The tender is the corridor type. The model comes in a 'period 4' box, which is stamped 'Packer No.2'. This is a nice tidy example of a popular loco - and looking at the wheels I would say that it has been lightly run only as they are still bright and shiny. Condition is B+ to A-. There is the tiniest pin-prick mark to the top of the boiler, but this is nothing of any significance at all. The tender is in the same condition. Box condition is B+, very tidy, and comes with instructions.

Wrenn, A4 Class 4-6-2 Locomotive and Tender, No.4903 "Peregrine" in 'NE' unlined wartime black livery. Loco runs without valances and pulls a corridor tender. This is a 'period 3' release and the box has 'Packer No.2' stamped on the bottom. The loco itself is in nice, clean and tidy condition - there are a couple of very minor chips, but the overall impression is of a sharp, clean loco. The tender has one or two handling marks to the sides, but I'm sure these would clean off quite easily. Condition of loco is B to B+. Condition of tender is a good B, possibly slightly better. Box is in reasonable condition - it is without Sellotape marks, but is a little worn at one end and there is a pen mark annotation to the top. Comes with instructions.

Wrenn, Gresley A4 Class 4-6-2 Locomotive and Tender, No.4900 "Gannet" in NE wartime black livery. Model comes in a 'period 4' box, which is not stamped on the bottom. I can't decide whether or not the loco has been run - the wheels are very shiny. There are no marks at all, so I would say that the loco has either been test-run only or not run at all. The loco is completely chip-free - it's a lovely example. The corridor tender is in the same condition. Condition is A-. The box, unfortunately, is a little careworn - it is intact and is correctly stamped at both ends. It has a stain on one side and the corners are worn although not worn through. Box condition is B- to B. Comes with instructions, alternative couplings and an information sheet about the alternative couplings.

Model has seen very little use and is in lovely, clean and unmarked condition. There are no marks or chips to the lining. I would grade it as B+ to A-. The box is quite tidy also, There is no stamp to the bottom and no Sellotape marks to the middle - so it's probably from 'period 3', although it could be a bit later. Comes with instructions. The loco is currently fitted with Hornby Dublo style couplings.

Wrenn, N2 Class 0-6-2 Tank Locomotive, No.9522 in 'LNER' unlined apple green livery. Made on and off in small batches between 1969 and 1989, this example is very clean and tidy with the single exception of a small group of marks on one side of the loco near the driver's door - they appear to be rubs rather than scratches. I would grade the loco's condition as B to B+. The box, which is from 'period 3', has Sellotape marks to the middle. Comes with an alternative set of couplings.

Wrenn, Class 4MT 2-6-4 Tank Locomotive, No.80033 in British Railways lined black livery with the later style emblem to the tank sides. This is from 'period 1' and this example has the hole in the rear of the bunker. It is in exceptionally nice condition. There is just the slightest hint of a nick in the lining at one spot - but I tend to think that is more of a factory blemish than anything else. In all other respects, the model is chip-free. It has been lightly used. It has plastic wheels on the bogies. Its condition is a really nice B+ to A-. The box condition is as about as good as it gets - it still has a sheen. It's a very early box. Comes with a set of alternative couplings. Rare to see these early models in such nice condition.

Wrenn, 4MT 2-6-4 Standard Tank Locomotive, No. 80079 in British Railways lined black. The model carries the later style emblem. This is a period 4 model released after 1982. It has packer No. 6 to the bottom of the box. The box does not have cellotape to the centre. The model is in fine condition, it has been lightly used and there are just a couple of small chips, one underneath the cab door, very very tiny and also one or two very small tiny nicks to the end of the cab roof. Overall a nice clean example, relatively hard to find in this number variant, I would grade this as a B+. The box is actually tidy as well, that is condition B+. It does not have instructions.

While this model has been used it is extremely clean and tidy, there is no damage whatsoever to the lining or the numerals. It has a fresh clean look about it, a nice B+. It comes in an original box which is actually also very clean and tidy. It is a period 3 box with cellotape around the middle.

Wrenn, Class 4MT Standard 2-6-4 Tank Locomotive, No. 80064 in British Railways lined black livery. The model carries the early lion over wheel emblem. This model is a period 4 Wrenn model, it comes in a period 4 box which is in lovely condition. The bottom of the box is stamped Packer No. 3 05832, which means the model was made in 1985. While the model has been very lightly used all the wheels, motion and handrails are shiny and bright. This model has the extra blue lining which makes it look very attractive. There are two labels to the ends of the boxes which have been typed with the details which I understand is correct. The model comes with a set of instructions. Condition, you would be hard pressed to find better one it really is super, condition is A- in a B+ or better box, a nice example all round.

Wrenn, Class 4MT Standard 2-6-4 Tank Locomotive, No. 2679 in LMS lined maroon livery. A good example, probably a later model looking at it. The wheels are very shiny, it appears to have been only very lightly used. The body is in good unmarked, unchipped condition. A couple of points, one, the lining around the running number has got a wobble in it which is obviously a factory issue and on the other side of the loco underneath the letter M is a blemish in the paintwork, now you can't see it unless it is against the light so it is not really significant but it is there. Probably something that happened during manufacture I would think. The model is chip free, it is missing a coupling hook from the front bogie. It comes in a very tidy box which has "Packer No. 6" to the bottom. The box itself does not have cellotape marks to the middle, so it is probably a period 3 box, it is actually quite tidy, I would grade it as a B to B+ box. It comes with a set of instructions. The lining and running numbers are vibrant yellow. The funny thing is looking at the running numbers on both sides of the loco they are slightly different, one of them is shadowed and the other one is but not as distinctive so maybe this was a Friday afternoon job I don't know - it makes it interesting though doesn't it. Condition is B+ or better in a B+ box.

Wrenn, 4MT Standard 2-6-4 Tank Locomotive, No. 2679 in LMS very bright yellow lined maroon livery. This is a particularly nice example of this locomotive, it has seen very little use. All the wheels and motion are shiny as are the handrails. There is no loss of decals or lining, infact as far as I can tell the model is chip and blemish free, about as good as it gets. Condition is A- in a B box, the box would be a lot better but one corner has been damaged and has been reinforced with cellotape. It is a period 4 without the cellotape marks to the middle. The inner tray comes without any stamps to the bottom which makes me think it might have been replaced at some point. A cracking model. It comes with a set of instructions.

Condition is B+ to A-. Comes in a 'period4' box, which is not stamped on the bottom, so I suspect that the inner box may have been replaced at some point. The box has had a Sellotape repair at one corner, which is a shame because the rest of the box is quite neat and tidy. Box condition is B- to B.

There is some small amount of decal loss to the running number, one corner of the lining around the number has been worn away and the other side there is a little nick around the lining around the running number. While there are, as far as I can tell, no chips or scratches to the model it does appear to have been very lightly handled. I would grade it as a good B to B+. It comes in a reasonable box, it has cellotape to the centre and it comes with a set of instructions and alternative couplings. Box condition is B to B+.

Wrenn, Castle Class 4-6-0 Locomotive and Tender, No.5023 "Brecon Castle" in British Railways experimental light green livery with the early lion-over-wheel BR emblem to the tender. This attractive model appears to be unused and the wheels are completely unmarked. The loco is in superb condition - the only point I could possibly raise is that there is a chip to the paint on the tender and a corresponding chip to the rear of the cab where contact has been made. With that exception, the condition of the model is A- or even better. Comes in a 'period 4' box which is in condition B or slightly better, just a little rubbing to the corners. The box is marked 'Packer no.3'. Comes with instructions and alternative couplings.

Wrenn, Collett Castle Class 4-6-0 Locomotive and Tender, No. 4075 "Ludlow Castle" in British Railways lined green livery with the late crest to the tender. The loco in my opinion has been renamed Ludlow Castle probably from Cardiff Castle, easily changed back if you so desired. The model has seen little use, the wheels are bright and shiny. There are no nicks to the linings or running numbers, a couple of chips to the back of the tender - cab area but apart from that it is a good clean example. When you look down on the tender the tender running board there is a couple of dabs of red paint for some reason but they are there. Overall condition of the loco and again looking at the front buffer beam possibly that has been repainted at some point. The model is a good B+. It comes in a nice original period one box which is tidy, which is a good B to B+. Model also comes with a set of instructions.

Wrenn, Castle Class 4-6-0 Locomotive and Tender, No.7013 "Bristol Castle" in British Railways lined green livery with the later style BR emblem to the tender. The model has seen some use, but the wheels are very bright and shiny and the overall impression is of a very clean and sharp example. A nice-looking model. Perhaps a point to raise is that when viewed from behind the cab, part of the body casting that comes around the chassis where the two screws are located appears to be slightly distorted; both sides are the same, which makes me think that it is probably a factory fault. But it doesn't detract in any way from how the model looks or runs. Condition is B+ or better. The 'period 4' box is stamped 'Packer No.6' and is in B condition. Comes with instructions and alternative couplings.

The wheels are a little on the grubby side - the tender's more than the loco's for some reason. And there are one or two marks here and there - but as far as I can tell there is no wear to any of the lining or decals. Condition is B to B+. The original 'period 3' box comes with instructions and unused coupling conversion. The lid is actually quite tidy, with a Beatties price label at one end. Box condition is a good solid B, perhaps a little better.

Wrenn, ex-GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 Locomotive and Tender, No.5013 "Abergavenny Castle" in British Railways express passenger lined blue livery with the early lion-over-wheel emblem to the tender. The model has been re-named and re-numbered. It has etched metal nameplates and number plates. For some reason the splashers, of which there are six, have been touched in with blue paint - I don't really understand why as their original colour was blue - it's a little untidy, but there we are. The rest of the model is in reasonable condition. The lining is intact on both cylinder covers and all other parts. There is some chipping to the edge of the cab roof and to the edge of the tender where it makes contact with the back of the loco. Overall condition is B or better. The name and number plates have been applied well. Comes in an original Wrenn box, but the end labels have been over-labelled and so there is no printing visible at the end of the box.

There were several variants of this model made from 1983 all the way through to the end of production in 1992, although production numbers were very small. This example is completely unused, it is condition A, I don't think I have encountered a better one. The running numbers are in pale cream and the coal on the tender top has a slight sheen to it which appears to be a factory finish. It has seen a small amount of use, but is in great condition. It's a reasonably late model and the paintwork is bright, clean and unmarked. There are one or two small chips to the tender where it makes contact with the back of the loco, but I think everyone I've seen is like that. With that exception, the model is a cracker. Condition is B+ to A-. It comes in a 'period 4' box, which is stamped 05937, which makes it a 1985 model. Also comes with instructions and alternative couplings. Box condition is a good B to B+. Wrenn, Duchess Class 4-6-2 Locomotive and Tender, No. 46245 "City of London". Loco is finished in British Railways part lined maroon livery. The tender which is unlined carries the later style British Railways emblem. The model on first impression is very clean and tidy. Taking a peek at the wheels, if it has been used it has only been test run, the centre cog is still generally clean. There is a couple of chips on the rear coupling bar at the back of the cab but they are actually underneath so it can't be seen. There is a hairline fracture to the lining around one of the numbers and there is a couple of pinprick marks on one of the smoke deflectors. Sounds like a lot but the actual impression of the loco is very shiny and clean, a good example. The tender is in the same condition as the loco, it is unmarked. I would grade the engine as a condition B+ to A- in a condition B box, there is a tear to the top of the box where probably a label or something has been removed. It is a period 3, it has Packer No. 6 to the bottom and it comes with alternative couplings. A good example.

This is the Mk1 City of Carlisle made by Wrenn and it was made only for single years between 1980 and 1988 and I understand the final production total was around 320. This is a fine example in lovely, unmarked condition. I would grade the tender and the locomotive as an A-. The box is an original box, complete with sellotape marks to the middle which most of the boxes from this period had. It also has the typed stick-on style labels, which again is correct for this period. Loco comes with a set of instructions.

Wrenn, Princess Coronation Duchess Class 4-6-2 Locomotive and Tender, No. 46238 "City of Carlisle". Loco is in British Railways lined black livery. Bit of an odd one this, this particular model was certainly never listed by Wrenn as an item they made. I was told by the seller of this loco that it was put together by Wrenn at the end of 1992 from various parts that were left over, although I would take that with a very large pinch of salt! It is currently on a Mk 2 chassis with the large driving wheels, the centre wheel is flanged and the model picks up from all 3 axles. It has the cab insert and its currently got a 3 pole motor. Now I understand from Morris Gunters book on Wrenn that not all the Mk 2 chassis carried 5 pole motors. The livery is certainly the LMS lined black that has been made to look like the British Railways in my opinion. The numbering to the cab is excellent, however the tender is a different matter, it is a hand painted tender with "British Railways" to the tender side. It is certainly a Wrenn tender. Condition, well it looks like it has been test run only, very, very sharp unmarked, unblemished, unchipped condition, easily a B+ to A-. It currently comes in the LMS City box which might give a clue to its former identity. I think all that can be said is that it is certainly an interesting model. Box condition is B, it has got Packer No. 6 to the bottom and comes with a set of instructions.

Wrenn, Duchess Class 4-6-2 Locomotive and Tender, No. 6254 "City of Stoke on Trent". Locomotive is in LMS straw lined black livery. It has smoke deflectors and a double chimney. This particular model has the larger style driving wheels fitted and I think they have been retro fitted I don't think this is original in any shape or form. The handrails are rusty and there is also surface rust showing to the axles on the tender. The model runs but the wheels lock up so they are either out of quarter or it is not the right wheels for this chassis, I am not entirely sure but it will need some further investigation. The overall condition of the loco is condition B. It is an original box but it is a bit on the tatty side, that is condition B- to B but it is intact. It comes with a set of instructions and alternative set of couplings.

This is a period 4 model in very nice sharp condition, a couple of points to raise. Firstly the model has had its nameplates replaced with etched metal plates which are red backed which look exceedingly good against the black paintwork. There is a small nick to the lining around the cab on one side of the loco but it is minor. The model has been used but it is clean, tidy and chip free. Easily a B to B+. It comes in an original period 4 box which is stamped "Packer No. 6" I think. Loco condition is B to B+. Box condition is a reasonable B, the corners are showing signs of wear.

Wrenn, Princess Coronation Duchess Class 4-6-2 Locomotive and Tender. No.46235 "City if Birmingham" in British Railways express passenger lined green livery with the later style emblem to the tender. This is actually quite a late model - the bottom of the box is stamped 90626, making it a 1990 release. It has the later style numerals, which are quite thin. Model has seen very little use. It is clean and tidy and the paintwork has a nice lustre. There are a couple of very minor chips - one to the back of the cab near where the tender connects to the drawbar and one to the running board on one side. The tender is in the same condition. A very attractive model. Comes in an original box, with instructions and unused alternative couplings.

In this style, the City of Edinburgh was made between 1980 and 1984 with some 400 being made. This example has very little use - the wheels are still mostly shiny - although there is a tiny mark on one of the smoke deflectors, which is insignificant. The loco is clean and tidy - I would grade it as a good B+, possibly slightly better. The tender is in pretty much the same condition as the engine - one of the coupling hooks has been bent and subsequently straightened, and there is a faint scratch or mark on one side of the tender. Tender condition is B to B+. Comes in an original box, which is in condition B, showing signs of wear. The inner box is reasonable and it comes with instructions.

Bodmin Locomotive was released approximately 1980/81, I understand the first batch which would have been period 3 just were released with black nameplates as this one is. I understand looking at the books on the subject that around about 500 were made of which less than half were made with the black nameplates, quite a rarity. Condition, the model has been lightly used, having scrutinised the body there are no chips at all. The paintwork is bright and well finished. The tender is in the same condition, the only point I would raise are two issues both of which relate to the lining. One of the cylinder covers the lining is missing in one section and one of the running numbers the double lining around it again there is about a 3mm section which is missing. Both these linings are still available so it would not be a big undertaking to put these details correct. Overall condition of the loco and tender is B+ to A-, lining accepted. The box is stamped up W22364/A it does not have cellotape marks to the middle. The inner box is not stamped. The box lid is intact but showing signs of wear, it has scuffs to the corners, probably only condition B. It comes with a set of instructions and alternative couplings.

Wrenn, Rebuilt Bulleid Pacific 4-6-2 Merchant Navy Class Locomotive and Tender, No.35005 "Canadian Pacific Merchant Navy Class" in British Railways express passenger blue livery with the early style lion-over-wheel crest. What we have here is unusual, it's obviously a repaint - it's been professionally done and is extremely attractive. It's also had extra detailing put on it; it's got front buffer beam detail, vacuum pipes, link couplings etc and also some other detailing parts added to the loco including five handrails. This is the story I've been told in relation to this loco. It was commissioned by Hornby as a test-bed for their, then new, Merchant Navy West Country Class Rebuilt loco and this livery was also used for comparative purposes by Hornby. There is no paperwork with the locomotive to support this, but that's the best information I have. Overall condition is B+, it's a lovely job. Perhaps the only point I might make is that the window surrounds are perhaps a little heavily done and one of the buffers is slightly bent but it's a minor issue really because it's a very, very attractive job. Box condition is B to B+. Comes with a set of instructions.

Having a close scrutiny of the model I can see no marks at all, it is completely chip free version with no nicks to the lining. Overall it is a good example of this popular locomotive. I would grade it as a B+ or better. The box is tidy, the usual wear on the corners, it has cellotape to the centre which is normal for this period. The box itself is probably B, maybe B to B+. Model comes with a set of instructions and an alternative set of couplings.

The model has been used, but hardly - the wheels are very shiny. There's a little nick to the lining around one of the running numbers, a minor chip (less than 1mm) to the running plate, and there's a tiny mark on the cab roof, again less than 1mm. The tender has a small nick to the lining but apart from that is clean and tidy. Condition is B to B+. Box condition is B, possibly a little better, showing some signs of wear. Wrenn, 8F Class 2-8-0 Heavy Freight Locomotive, No.3144 in LNER unlined black livery. This is one of the variations that has the yellow lettering with the red background. This particular version was made in relatively small number between 1970 and 1980. The general condition is probably B to B+. I'm always very picky when I'm looking at Wrenn locos - this particular one has been used: the wheels are actually very clean so it's only been used very lightly I would imagine; there is a little bit of chipping to the rear of the tender where it makes contact with the back of the motor which is very common, and also chipping to the paint at the back of the cab again where it makes contact with the tender. With the exception of that, there are one or two minute chips - there's one on the running board on one side of the loco and a couple around the axle covers on the tender - but nothing that screams at you. All the decals are in good condition, and the loco is in good working order. Box is in original condition with the usual Sellotape marks to the side of the box lid. The style of box is Wrenn Railways with guard and flag. Loco comes with a set of instructions and an alternative set of couplings. Box condition is B, showing signs of wear, but it is intact and original. There is no packer number to the bottom of the box.

Model is in excellent condition and has seen virtually no use and has no chips, marks, rubs or any other blemishes - it's about as good as it gets. I would grade it as A-. It has that lovely sharp look to the paintwork. I understand that the model was made in this form from 1977 to 1986. The box has seen a little use and there is Sellotape to the middle (as there is with a lot of Wrenn boxes) and there's a bit of damage to the lid in one place and signs of general wear to the corners. Overall condition is easily a B+. It comes in an original box which is condition B, it is period 3 box and does not have a stamp to the bottom. However, this is where things get slightly interesting, the chassis does have the later larger wheels not the version with the centre flange wheel but the larger driving wheel. There was a version of Duchess of Hamilton with such wheels but I don't believe this is probably correct, it is probably a marriage between a later chassis and a slightly earlier body if the box is anything to go by. Wrenn, Class 4MT Standard 2-6-4 Tank Locomotive, No. 1927 in "Southern" lined green livery. Popular locomotive, it was made from 1978 through to 1988. The model looking at it may well have been lightly used but the wheels are actually bright and shiny so any use would be minimal. The overall impression is reasonable starting from the left hand side there is a small, its nearly microscopic, nick to the lining, it is very hard to spot even. On the other side again on the tank side below the word Southern are two little marks which can only be seen when held against a strong light but they appear to be some kind of residue of some description. I don't know what it is, it doesn't look like adhesive, it might well clean off or it might even be a defect in the paint from the factory it is hard to say. Looking around the loco there appears to be no chips, it is a good clean example. I would grade it as a B+. It comes in an original box, which is period 3, I should say the box lid is original, the inner box is plain card on the inside I am not sure whether these were later or infact earlier I am not entirely sure. Model does come with a set of instructions and an alternative set of couplings. One point I forgot to mention is there is a coupling hook missing from one of the couplings.

The loco itself is in lovely condition. It has perhaps had a tiny amount of use and there are one or two chips around where the tender touches the back of the engine, which is something that is seen frequently.
