Established in the early 1980's after the breakup of Airfix , Founder David Boyle and his wife Pauline set up the company to handle a large quantity of Ex Airfix stock and spares however is long term plan was to develop a new range of highly detailed British Outline models of a quality similar to that only found in some existing continental ranges.
The Next twenty five years saw Dapol acquire assets from Mainline , further assets of Airfix and G&R Wrenn.
After several moves and a severe fire at one of the factories , Dapol have now established themselves at new premises near Chirk where they are now fast becoming a major competitor to Bachmann and Hornby.
