![]() | Gauge |
Class 71 Bo-Bo Electric Locomotive, 71002 in BR blue, The Class of 24 Class 71's were built at Doncaster Works in 1959/60 for use on the Kent Coast electrified system for Mainline passage and freight work, they could run on 3rd rail or overhead systems, Initially allocated to Chart Leacon in Kent, they saw use on the famous 'Golden Arrow' and 'Night Ferry' services unfortunately they went the way of the Class 74's with changing traction requirements taking away the work for which they were designed for, all withdrawn by 1977, although one (E5001) has been saved for the nation by the NRM, A Silver Fox Model With a hand finished and spray painted resin body, this model is fitted to a new Hornby modified chassis. ' In these days of mass production it's refreshing to find a product designed and made by an individual and a subject that might not be commercially viable for the large volume manufactures made in very limited runs of perhaps 50 or less. Please note. there is VAT included in this price, for our overseas non EEC customers VAT will be deducted
